How can we avoid/minimize the teenage problems?
"My son doesn't listen to me."
"My daughter is too rebellion."
"I am now a grandfather, a little too early."
Every teenager will go through a period of transition from a child to an adult. During such period, curiosity peeks. While the building of confidence to face the real world need to be reinforced, it must be guided. Communication between the parent/guardian and the teenager is most important. However, a working communication channel isn't built in a day, it is cultivated for years even since your son or daughter is born. It is based on love and trust. If you want him/her to listen to you, he/she must be doing so out of willingness, and not because of compliance. He/she will be willing to listen because he/she knows that you believe that is what is best for him/her. Even if he/she does not do what you want at the end, at least, the decision is made after considering your input, and you give it your best shot.

Musical Theatre Program
Musical Theatre has been a good class for Valerie and Fiona. They both love it. For the first term, they learned 3 songs from the Sound of Music:
Do Re Mi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uqjg5tdVBmU
Edelweiss: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQdng5N2Stc
So long, farewell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJf4h4AZR3k
After the official class performance done on Dec. 13, 2009 at the teacher's basement, they were able to create a 2-person version of the same 3 songs, and performed them at Grandma's place.

Their teacher is Harriet Chung: http://www.harrietchung.com/
It's really an excellent program for singing and dancing, and performance in general.
